Professional Learning Opportunities

PIMSER has several offerings available this Winter/Spring 2026 that can support instructional improvements necessary to make the transformation in instruction our KAS for science require.

OpenSciEd.org: This Open Source Curriculum for Elementary through High school.  This curriculum is aligned to our KAS and is being implemented across the US in 10s of 1000’s of classrooms.  The curriculum can support teacher success with on grade content and strategies to engage students in tasks that result in long term memory acquisition. Session for Elementary is in March and Middle and High School is in February.

Assessment offerings to support teachers with preparing students for KSA this Spring. These are Virtual Sessions.  Starting February.

Other offerings on Engagement of all student in the learning and Effective Vocabulary instruction in science, will be happening in Hazard at the KY Valley Education Cooperative (KVEC) in March.

    • KDE has developed several Science Professional Learning Modules and are hosting Webinars to support their use.  The module can be found on the resource page located at kystandards.org
