Budget-friendly Teacher Workshops from Kentucky Academy of Science, Saturday November 2 at Berea College

The Kentucky Academy of Science (KAS) has added 3 Teacher Workshops on Saturday Nov 2 to our Annual Meeting at Berea College. We think teachers will love them but you don’t have to be a teacher to register! All workshops offer professional development credit from Berea College.

Summer PD - Modeling Workshops

Modeling Instruction is designated as an Exemplary K-12 science program and a Promising Educational Technology program by the U.S. Department of Education. Modeling Workshops™ are peer-led. Content is reorganized around basic models to increase its structural coherence. Participants are supplied with a complete set of course materials and work through activities alternately in roles of student or teacher, as they practice techniques of guided inquiry and cooperative learning. Models and theories are the purpose and the outcomes of scientific practices.

2019 Kentucky Energy Tour for Educators - REGISTRATION is OPEN

The 2019 Kentucky Energy Tour for Educators will bring together educators from around the Commonwealth who are passionate about teaching the topic of energy. Tour dates: June 9 – 14. The tour will provide participants with current information on many aspects of energy including the science of energy, Kentucky's natural resources used to provide energy, generation of electricity, efficiency and conservation practices as well as career opportunities in Kentucky's energy industry.
