3-Day Training Series in Western Kentucky (Eddyville)

Designed for teacher leaders and administrators who want to build expertise to lead implementation of the KAS for Science in their school.
Develop leadership skills to support the instructional shifts necessary for effective implementation of the Kentucky Academic Standards for Science.
Teams of teacher leaders will work together with administrators, PIMSER facilitators, and other schools/districts to design solutions for problems of practice and plan for implementation of effective change in all science classrooms. The content for each meeting will be driven by participant feedback on local implementation needs.
During the Academy, you and your team will:
Develop an approach for teacher leadership to support highly effective science teaching and student learning
Design coherent lessons that integrate mathematics, ELA, and/or engineering
Get resources and strategies for:
Making sense of phenomena using three-dimensional learning and assessment
Analyzing data resulting from the implementation of the KDE Through Course Task to inform instruction and curriculum
Planning for professional development and/or PLCs meetings
Addressing problems of practice relevant to your school setting
Preferred Team

· Two or more teacher leaders from a school or district, K-12

· One or more administrators are encouraged - but not required - to attend with a teacher team. Teams with administrators will receive a $50 per person discount
